Day 2 of Shri Bharata Charitra Discourse - May 24th, 2025
Some highlights from today's session:
Distilling the concept of Paapa & Punya, SohamJi revealed the following:
Good Karma brings us Punya & Punya begets us Sukham (Happiness).
Likewise, Bad Karma brings us Paapa & Paapa brings us Dukkham (Dejection).
Taking this level deeper in terms of our material life, SohamJi shared another equation: Paapa brings us Dejection in spite of Material possessions.
Punya brings us Happiness even in the absence of Material possessions.
Hence, for happiness that we all seek, we should be focusing on accumulating Good Karmas, which will assuredly give us Punya & that will lead us to Happiness.
The one great virtue about Prince Bharata is that his connection with Bhagwaan Rama was very strong & it was front & center in all situations. The lesson for us is that, no matter what external sadhana we do, like Puja, Japa, Chanting, Dhyaana, etc. we should single-pointedly focus on increasing our connection & bond with Bhagwaan.
Pujya GuruJi Swami Tejomayananda says in one of his quote - Our Longing & Belonging must be for God
When we have a strong connection with the Almighty, during times of crisis or otherwise, whatever we do, think or say will always be the right thing. This is exactly what happens to Shri Bharata.
