5/1/22 Mahabharata Class Notes

CMP Bala Vihar® Grade 8A

Class 29 : Summary

  • RAW review: Justifying Bad Behavior: We talked about how we are responsible for our behavior inspite of how others behave towards us. We spoke of some examples where we justify what we do - although it is not the right thing to do. Lord Krishna admonishes Karna and others that - just because life is unfair, it does not give you a license to be unfair or Adharmic to others.

  • Story: We narrated Shalya Parva and Sauptika Parva. We talked about how Shalya, Shakuni and Duryodhana were eliminated and then how Aswathama resorts to the unspeakable and also incurs Lord Krishna's wrath. The Mahabharata war comes to an end.

  • Reflection: We reflected on Bhima, Duryodhana, Krishna and Aswathama. We reiterated how Dharma would always win, and Krishna's justice is final.

  • RAW: In war, there are no real winners: In what sense? But Krishna declares, Dharma will win. Can you explain?
