Class 24 : Summary
RAW review: Just War; War vs Peace: We talked about how the Pandavas and Krishna tried everything they could to avoid war. We reiterated why War was necessary and the conditions for a Just War.
Story: We started on Bhishma Parva. We talked about Arjuna's confusion and his dilemma at the start of war and Krishna's famous teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. Given our time constraints, we briefly glossed over the primary teachings. We also went over briefly on how the war unfolded from Day 1 to Day 9. Bhishma caused a lot of damage to the Pandava army.
Reflection: We reflected on how the teaching of Krishna to Arjuna about the war should not be taken by us as call to violence but should be understood in the context of our own life's challenges w.r.t our duty and roles. We will reflect more on Bhishma's role next week.
RAW: Second Thoughts: Can you think of instances where you had second thoughts, after you have already made a decision? Why do we have second thoughts? What causes this?

Summer Reading: Bhagavad Gita for Kids: A very well written book. Encourage your kids to read over summer. You can read with them and have nice family conversations about it :)
