Class 4 : Summary
RAW review: Take on a Responsibility: We asked the students to observe situations around them and offer to help others. We had a few participants who took on unloading dishes to helping co-students at school. We explored the virtue of selflessness & reiterated the joy in Selfless actions being of a deeper quality than that of selfish actions to please one's self.
Story: We covered the story of Dhritarashtra and Pandu marriages. Gandhari's vow and Kunti's secret and birth of Karna; Pandu's curse and birth of the Pandavas and Kauravas, and death of King Pandu.
Reflection: We analyzed the characters of Gandhari, Kunti, Dhritarashtra and Pandu. Focus was mostly on their flaws and what we learn from them - such as impulsive action of Kunti, Gandhari's hasty vow, Dhritarshtra's blind attachment to his son, Pandu's passion and inadvertent actions and consequences.
Gita Chapter 12: We learnt to chant shloka 1.
RAW: This week our theme is 'Think before you Act'. We are highlighting impulsive actions and consequences (as in Kunti's curiosity with the mantra). Kids will watch short video clip(s) and share their thoughts on WhatsApp!
